Quick Review: Espinosa Y Ortega Murcielago

Espinosa Y Ortega Murcielago

Espinosa Y Ortega Murcielago cigars (Spanish for ‘bat’) are another visionary creation from Eddie Ortega & Erik Espinosa, and the gifted hands of Don Pepin Garcia. Handcrafted with hearty Nicaraguan long filler tobaccos, a Mexican binder, and a lush, dark Mexican San Andreas Maduro wrapper, the result is a medium to full-bodied smoke with a nice sweet taste (says Eddie), notes of spice, and superb balance.

Size/Vitola: Churchill 7 x 48

Cigar Basics 101’s Take:

This was the first time I have ever experienced the Espinosa Y Ortega Murcielago. This was a very smooth cigar that I could easily see myself smoking a couple more. The San Andres wrappers are becoming more common and I am quickly becoming a fan of this maduro wrapper. Just the pedigree alone of the Espinosa Y Ortega Mucielago would make me want another even if it was bad the first time around. Thank goodness that the Espinosa Y Ortega Murcielago was not bad the first time around and warrants another stay or two in my humidor.

If you cannot find the Espinosa Y Ortega Mucielago in your local brick and mortar cigar retailer, you can find them at Famous Smoke Shop.
