The gentlemen that helped me recommended the Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto Tubo that was new to their store. He seemed really excited about it and I figured why not give it a try and experience something new.

Construction

The Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto Tubo comes in a black and white tubo that houses the cigar. The Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto has a Black Davidoff band with white letters. This is a reverse to what you will normally see with any other Davidoff Cigar. In addition to the Black band you also have a secondary band that is orange with the word Nicaragua on it. The wrapper which is the 10 year old Habano seed Rosado is a burnt orange color that is similar in hue to the secondary band on the Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto Tubo.

Towards the second third of the cigar the spice picked up nicely but was not overpowering. The creaminess of this cigar was still their and personally is what made me want to smoke more.

Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto

Flavor

I really enjoyed this cigar. The Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto Tubo was not in your face right away. It was almost like the cigar was teasing you with the flavors. First giving you a dash of a wood note, a little spice, and a very enjoyable creaminess all with an undertone of an earthiness that just made the Davidoff Nicaragua Robusto Tubo a very enjoyable cigar.

Towards the second third of the cigar the spice picked up nicely but was not overpowering. The creaminess of this cigar was still their and personally is what made me want to smoke more.  Between the spices, that wonderful creaminess I was able to detect hints of nuts and more wood, almost oaky flavors. The Davidoff Nicaragua is a great medium bodied cigar that I can see myself enjoying again.

Overall

To the gentlemen at the Churchill Cigars in Downtown Phoenix I thank you for recommending this wonderful cigar.  The best way I can pay it forward was to give a humble review and hope that more people find this cigar and enjoy it like I have. It’s a little pricey at around $13 a stick. But I could think of worse ways to spend $13.

This was my first Davidoff and will not be my last. You can check out more information on this cigar and their other lines at their website here.
